Posted: Updated:

PITTSVILLE, Md. - Police charge a woman with murder after a man was found dead with a stab wound.

According to the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation, the sheriff's office responded to a home at 7434 Cemetery Ave. Thurs. at 3:04 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.

Deputies said when they entered the home, they found a dead man later identified as Jeremy Nolin. Police said Nolin was found with a stab wound to his chest.

The sheriff's office said a short time later, the suspect, Shawna Hournbuckle, arrived at the scene.

Investigators said Hournbuckle told deputies she and Nolin had fought the night before, which resulted in Nolin being stabbed in the chest.

According to police, Hournbuckle was then transported to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

The Wicomico Bureau of Investigations was contacted and the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit also provided assistance.

After investigators examined the scene and conducted several interviews related to the stabbing, police said Hournbuckle was charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Dangerous and Deadly Weapon with Intent to Injure, Manslaughter, 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Assault.

Police said Hournbuckle was turned over to the custody of the Wicomico County Detention Center.
