DOVER, Del. - The fireworks display for the 83rd Annual Dover Days Festival has been canceled.

Due to inclement weather scheduled to last until late Friday night, Kent County Tourism made the decision Thursday afternoon to cancel Friday's activities that were scheduled to begin at 6pm on Legislative Mall and end with a fireworks display.

“Our number one priority is to keep all constituents and attendees of Dover Days safe” said, Wendie Vestfall, Executive Director for Kent County Tourism. “It’s unfortunate that we have had a consistent rain for the last few days and the forecast for tomorrow is more of the same."

With the forecast expected to shape up for the weekend, Vestfall said the Annual Doer Days Parade, which kicks off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, is still scheduled as planned.

Event updates and information will be made available throughout the festival on the Dover Days website www.DoverDaysFestival.com and the Dover Days Facebook page.

The following events tied to Dover Days will still be taking place on Friday:
