SALISBURY, Md. (WBOC/AP) - The CEO of Allen Harim Foods LLC has been hired to rejoin Perdue Farms Inc. as president of Perdue Foods LLC.
Perdue Farms, based out of Salisbury, Md., announced Thursday that Steve Evans will start his new job on May 31.

"We are thrilled to have Steve return to Perdue in this leadership position," said Randy Day, Chief Operating Officer of Perdue Farms. "I am confident Steve's experience in marketing and sales, his tenure as chief executive officer of Allen Harim Foods, and his personal understanding of our company's values and heritage will be invaluable as we manage the present and prepare for the future in our journey to be the most trusted named in premium proteins."

Evans has led Allen Harim Foods, a unit of South Korea's Harim Corp., since 2013. Allen Harim's headquarters are in Seaford, Delaware. Prior to that, Evans had been with Perdue since 1985, most recently as senior vice president of sales and supply chain.

Evans is a member of the National Chicken Council, the Salisbury University Perdue School of Business Executive Advisory Council, and a past member of the American Meat Institute. He earned a bachelor of arts' degree in business administration and marketing at Georgia State University and has completed advanced business studies at the Wharton and Darden business schools.

Evans and his wife, Liza, have four children and three grandchildren, and live in Salisbury.

With Evans' departure, Allen Harim announced Thursday it has promoted Joe Moran to the position of CEO. Moran, a poultry industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, will oversee all aspects of the company's operations, including growout, production, sales and marketing, finance and human resources.

Moran joined Allen Harim in November 2015 as Executive Director and a member of the company's Leadership Council.

"During his first six months with Allen Harim, Mr. Moran has been responsible for efficiently and effectively managing both our growout and production operations while spearheading major upgrades at our Harbeson, Delaware facility," said Mr. Hong-Kuk Kim, Chairman, Harim Group.  "His leadership, experience and innovative approach have helped position Allen Harim for growth, and his commitment to the welfare of our workforce is unmatched."

Before joining Allen Harim, Moran served as Chief Operations Officer at Mountaire Farms in Millsboro, Del. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing from James Madison University. He resides in Ocean View, Del. with his wife, Kristy.
