Search for Suspect in Robbery of Elderly Seaford Woman

SEAFORD, Del. - Police are searching for a person who knocked an elderly woman to the ground outside of her home in Seaford, and took her purse before running away. 

According to police, at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday, an 82-year-old woman was getting out of her car on Crossgate Drive when someone walked up, knocked her to the ground, took her purse and ran away. Officers from the Seaford Police Department and the Delaware State Police K-9 unit were able to find her purse and a black and gray camouflage sweatshirt nearby.

The woman was taken to Nanticoke Hospital where she was examined and later released. The suspect is described as a black male, between 13 and 20 years old, 5-foot-10-inches to 6 feet tall, 170 to 180 pounds, and wearing blue jeans and a black and gray camouflage sweatshirt that was found at the scene, police said.
