HEBRON, Md. - Police charge a Wicomico County man with 2nd Degree Assault and Trespassing after officers said he punched a victim.

The sheriff's office said it happened Sunday in the 200 block of N. Main St.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to the scene after a report of an altercation.

Deputies said the victim at the home said that 23-year-old Aaron Matthews punched him during an argument.

The sheriff's office said Matthews approached the victim over ownership of the man's dog.

Deputies said Matthew said the victim had his dog, saying the dog belonged to a friend of his.

Following the alleged assault, Deputies arrested Matthew and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner.

Deputies said the Commissioner detained Matthews in the Detention Center in lieu of $5,000 bond on a 2nd Degree Assault Charge and Trespassing.
