QUEENSTOWN, Md.-  The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office only has one picture of the man its says took pictures of a woman while she was changing at the Old Navy store in the Queenstown Outlets.  It's all investigators have to work with since the camera system was undergoing maintenance at the time.  Unfortunately, smart phones have made peeping easier than ever before.

"Everyone has that form of technology in your hand 24/7.  If you're a voyeur or a peeping Tom, it's an easy way to obtain footage with nobody knowing," said Sheriff Gary Hofmann.

The sheriff says that your phone can also help you catch them on camera.

"My best recommendation is for you to one be safe, and two if you can videotape or take a picture of the person who committed that offense to you, that is very helpful to law enforcement.  We will share that with other jurisdictions as well," said Hofmann.

We reached out to mall management who sent the following statement regarding their policy on preventing this from happening:

"Queenstown Premium Outlets management and security are working closely with the Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office to share any information that may lead to the arrest of an individual involved in an incident that took place last month. As this is a continuing investigation, we ask that all further inquiries be directed to the Sheriff’s Office at (410) 758-0770."

"Queenstown Premium Outlets takes several proactive security measures, some of which are visible to shoppers while others must remain private to protect the integrity of the security program."

The best bet isn't a security system though, but constant vigilance.

"All the security and law enforcement officers in the world could all be walking around doing things, but it's the peeping tom that's going to be looking at the person who is in the dressing room or the bathroom that we aren't going to notice.  It's important for the public to be aware of their surroundings," said Hofmann.
