PITTSVILLE, Md.- For the second time this year, a public meeting has been scheduled in Pittsville with the Maryland State Highway Administration to discuss Sixty Foot Road, which has had a history of deadly accidents through the years.

The first meeting was held back in February where SHA presented town officials and business owners with the idea of a J-Turn at the intersection of Sixty Foot Road and Route 50.

Many Pittsville residents have been calling for improvements to the notoriously dangerous intersection for years, but do not believe the J-Turn will do enough to remedy the issue. Many in Pittsville have asked for the installation of a stop light.

Wednesday, June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Pittsville Fire Department, SHA officials will be back in town to present the results of the latest follow-up study on the intersection. Town leaders are encouraging the public to attend.
