SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury man has been arrested after police say he threatened two people in their hotel room with an assault-style rifle.

According to Salisbury police, it happened Thursday night around 11:40 at the Days Inn on North Salisbury Boulevard. When officers arrived, police say the two victims told them the suspect had entered their hotel room and threatened them with a rifle, demanding money. The victims refused to give the suspect money, and the suspect ran away, according to police.

By using a description of the suspect given to them by the victims, police were able to locate the suspect sitting inside a car in the hotel parking lot and identify him as 31-year-old Kevin Parker Jr. The victims positively identified Parker, and he was arrested and taken into police custody.

Police say they found a loaded assault-style rifle in Parker's car. Parker is at the Wicomico County Detention Center, awaiting an initial appearance for charges of burglary, use of a weapon during commission of a felony (home invasion), false imprisonment, assault, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.

Police say the investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Salisbury Police Department at (410) 548-3113 or Crime Solvers at (410) 548-1776.
