Woman Wakes to Strange Man Standing Over Her in Millsboro

Posted: Updated:

MILLSBORO, Del. - Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that happened north of Millsboro early Saturday morning.

The incident happened just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 20000 block of Mrs Catherine Lane, according to police, as a 28-year-old female was sleeping in the living room with her three sons, ages 9, 8, and 5.  The woman woke to a man standing over her armed with a handgun, police said Sunday.  The man ordered her to go into another room, but the victim refused and at that time one of her sons woke up and she screamed for him to run out of the house, police said.  This startled the intruder who then ran out of the front door of the home in an unknown direction without taking anything, according to police.  The woman and her three sons were uninjured in the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 5’05”-5’08” tall, 140-160 lbs., with black hair, wearing all black clothing and a mask covering his face, according to police.

If anyone has any information in reference to this incident, they are asked to contact Detective J. Jones at 302-752-3795.  Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
