LAUREL, Del. (WBOC/AP)- A Laurel man has been charged with his sixth DUI.

Laurel police said that on Monday officers responded to a report of a property damage crash on Route 13. Police said 52-year-old Francis Wiers didn't slow in time and struck the rear of another vehicle in the northbound side of the road.

Police gave Wiers field sobriety tests and he didn't pass. During the investigation, police found that Wiers had five prior felony DUI charges.

Wiers was arrested and charged with felony DUI, inattentive driving and not having his license in possession. He was ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $12,000 cash bond.

It's unclear if Wiers has an attorney.
