Delmar House Fire Displaces Four Families

DELMAR, Md.- Authorities say the Red Cross is assisting four families displaced in a Thursday morning fire that heavily damaged a home in Delmar. 

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the blaze broke out at around 7:45 a.m. at a three-story home located at 304 E. Elizabeth St. 

It took 30 firefighters from the Delmar Volunteer Fire Department approximately 20 minutes to get the fire under control. 

The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in damage to the structure and $10,000 in damage to its contents. There were no reported injuries. 

Investigators said the fire started in the utility room but its cause is still undetermined.
