Centreville Man Arrested in Armed Robbery Investigation

CENTREVILLE, Md.- Police arrested a Centreville man in connection with an armed robbery Friday night.

It happened at the Dollar General Store at 545 Railroad Ave around 6:30 p.m.

Police say the suspect walked in, grabbed a woman who worked there and threatened her with a knife. He demanded cash from the register, and took off after the employee gave it to him.

 According to police, there were at least 4 customers in the store when the robbery occurred, as well as store employees, however, no one was injured.

Police Officers from the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police assisted Centreville Police in a search of the area for the suspect and vehicle unsuccessfully.

Officers from the Centreville Police Department who were working the case interviewed multiple witnesses which lead them to identify the suspect as 27-year-old Micheal Chamberlain.

Police say Chamberlain was arrested shortly after by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office on unrelated charges.

Chamberlain is being charged with 1st and 2nd Degree Assault, Armed Robbery and various other criminal offenses.
