Two Sought in Dover Carjacking

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del.- Police are looking for two suspects wanted in connection with a carjacking that occurred in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods at the Dover Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

Dover police said the 18-year-old male victim stated that at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, two male suspects carrying a pipe and wooden baton approached him in the Dick's parking lot and order him back into his vehicle.

According to police, the two male suspects entered the vehicle while a white female suspect also entered the back seat. The rear male passenger told the victim that he had a gun and ordered him to drive away, investigators said.

Police said the victim drove southbound, taking multiple back roads to the Milford area, where the victim was ordered out of the vehicle on West Woodside Drive.  The victim then ran to a nearby home and called 911.  The victim’s vehicle was located  a short distance away by responding Milford and Delaware State Police officers.  The victim told police that the suspects also stole his cellphone, an undisclosed amount of cash and his drivers license.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302) 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips can also be submitted to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or online at http://www.tipsubmit.com or through the Dover Police Department MyPD Mobile App
