SEAFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police arrested two Seaford men after a traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana and a handgun on Friday night.

Police say troopers were on routine patrol in the area of Coverdale Road around 8 p.m. when the saw a car speeding. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the car.

As troopers made contact with the driver of the car, a 29-year-old whose name was not released, and the front seat passenger, 28-year-old Dominique Hall, they detected the strong odor of marijuana.

The driver told troopers he was in possession of marijuana. Police then searched both men, and found approximately 8.5 grams of marijuana in the pants pocket of the driver.

A consent search of the car was then conducted. During the search, Troopers located a Glock 40 caliber handgun, a fully loaded magazine, and approximately $14,500 in suspected drug sale proceeds in the glove box of the car.

Both the driver and Dominique Hall were arrested and transported to Troop 5 where after further investigation, the operator of the vehicle was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Speeding. He was arraigned at JP Court 2 and released on $275 unsecured bail. Dominique Hall was charged with Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. He was also arraigned at JP Court 2 and released on $500 unsecured bail.
