MILFORD, Del. - A Bridgeville man has been charged after police say he knocked over a child while running away from a store.

According to police, on May 1, 27-year-old Cameron Calvert took merchandise off the shelf of the Milford Walmart and then attempted to return it using an old receipt. When store employees contacted him about the transaction, police say Calvert ran from the store, hitting a six-year-old on his way out, knocking the child to the ground.

Police say Calvert kept running, then got into a car with another suspect and left. The child was not injured, according to police.

Officers from the Dover Police Department located Calvert on June 7 and turned him over to Milford police. He was charged with reckless endangering, use of an illegitimate retail sales receipt, conspiracy offensive touching and disorderly conduct. Following his arraignment, police say Calvert was released on $4,000 unsecured bond.
