DOVER, Del.– Delaware State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened Saturday evening north of Dover.

Police say it happened around 6:30 p.m. According to police, 20-year-old Rod Zarafshar of McLean, Virginia, was driving northbound on Lewis Drive approaching Dyke Branch Road.  Police say Robert Falcone, 37 of Dover, was driving westbound on Dyke Branch Road approaching the same intersection.

According to police, Zarafshar failed to stop for the stop sign and entered into the path of Falcone's pick-up truck. The truck hit the Jeep, and both began to rotate before coming to a stop.

A front seat passenger, Hunter Watson, 20 of McLean, Virginia, was properly restrained and pronounced dead at the scene.

Zarafshar was properly restrained and airlifted to Christiana Medical Center where he was admitted with undetermined injuries.

Falcone was properly restrained and transported by EMS to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident.  Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this case.  Dyke Branch Road at Lewis Drive was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
