SMYRNA, Del. - More drugs are off the streets of Kent County after Smyrna Police seized about 23 grams of crack cocaine and some marijuana during a robbery investigation.

Police said early Tuesday, officers responded to the area of E. Mt. Vernon Street and Lincoln Street on June 24 for a report of a strong armed robbery. Responding officers located the alleged victim as well as the suspect, police said.

While detaining the suspect later identified as 35-year-old Brandon Evans of Smyrna, police said officers found a large bag of crack cocaine. Evans was also found to be in possession of 3.5 grams of marijuana, according to police, as well as bout $1,000 in suspected drug money.

During the course of the investigation, the alleged victim changed his story several times and stopped cooperating with officers, according to police.

Evans was brought to the Smyrna Police Department where he was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 4 quantity and possession of marijuana.  Evans was arraigned and released on $25,000 unsecured bond pending a future court hearing, according to police.
