Somerset County Man Charged with Distribution of Child Pornography

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - A Somerset County man was arrested following an investigation into distribution of child pornography.

According to Maryland State Police, investigators from the Maryland Internet Crimes section and Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children task force, arrested Bryan Evans, 34, of the 11000 block of Somerset Avenue in Princess Anne. Evans was charged with six counts of possession of child pornography and other related charges, police said.

Earlier this year, investigators learned of the potential distribution of child pornography over the internet and identified Evans as the suspect. A search warrant was served at Evans' home shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. Responding agencies were able to recover various digital media storage devices, according to police. Evidence will be submitted to the Maryland State Police Digital Forensics Lab for analysis.

Evans was transported to the Somerset County District Court Commissioner's office. He is being held on a $300,000 bond.

Agencies involved in carrying out the search warrant include the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit , Maryland State Police's Princess Anne Barrack, Homeland Security Investigations, Somerset County Narcotics Task Force, the Worcester County Sheriff's Department and the Princess Anne Police Department.
