Part of Pemberton Drive Closed Due to Sinkhole in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md. - This week's heavy rain has caused a sinkhole to form in Salisbury, Md.

The sinkhole on Pemberton Drive was discovered Thursday afternoon.

Road crews said Tuesday's heavy downpours combined with a nearby pond over saturated the foundation, creating the hole.

According to a Facebook post by County Executive Bob Culver, Pemberton Drive was closed between Harbor Point Drive and Crooked Oak Lane during repairs. Culver said the Roads Department told him the road should be opened later Thursday night, but an exact time was not given.
