Woman Shot Near Seaford

SEAFORD, Del.– Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that left a woman injured southwest of Seaford.

The incident happened around 12:15 a.m., Thursday. According to police, the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center (9-1-1) received a call about shots being fired on the 5600 block of Byard Avenue.  Troopers arrived at the home and found a 38-year-old woman with a single gunshot wound to her upper torso.  The victim was airlifted to an area hospital where she was being treated for the non-life-threatening injury, police said. 

Troopers said the investigation into this incident is ongoing and no suspect information could be provided.
