Smryna Man Arrested in Gas Station Robbery

SMRYNA, Del.- Police arrested a Smyrna man in connection to a gas station robbery.

Smyrna Police say the robbery happened at the Valero at 313 N. Dupont Blvd. on July 10. Police released surveillance photos of the suspect on social media, and say tips began pouring in.

Investigators identified the suspect as 25-year-old Dylan Chambers. As investigators worked to obtain more evidence linking Chambers to the incident, police say he was also implicated in another theft from a car.

Police obtained a search warrant for Chambers' home.Officers arrested Chambers on July 12, as they executed the warrant.

Police say Chambers was found to be in possession of heroin and hypodermic needles.  Investigators also seized clothing from the residence they say Chambers wore during the robbery.  

Chambers is facing charges of 1st-degree robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was additionally arraigned on his theft under $1,500 warrant.  

Chambers appeared via video court before JP #7 where he was released on $42,000 unsecured bond pending future court hearings.  

The Smyrna Police Dept would like to commend and thank those members of the public whose assistance in this investigation was paramount to its conclusion.
