PRINCESS ANNE, Md.- Maryland State Police arrested a Somerset County man on burglary, theft and child pornography-related charges on Monday.

Investigators of the Criminal Enforcement Division Lower Shore Region identified the suspect as Marco Garcia, 38, of Crisfield, Md. Police said Garcia was arrested without incident and charged with the possession of child pornography, burglary and theft.

According to police Garcia was captured on a home video surveillance camera prowling through a neighborhood backyard. Police asked for the public's help identifying the man in the video.

Terry Boldizsar, along with other neighbors, were shown still images from the surveillance video.

"At first glance he didn't look like he had anything on and where the picture was taken he was by children's toys, that concerned me. We were kind of like whoa, you got to be kidding because we have so many grandchildren that come in and out of our house to visit," Boldizsar said.

Earlier this year, the division began a search for potential possession of child pornography through a burglary and theft investigation. As a result of the previous investigation, police say Garcia was identified as the suspect and a consent search was conducted by the Maryland State Police, Somerset County Sheriff's Department, and Crisfield Police Department at Garcia's home after 4 p.m. on Monday.

Authorities reported that they had recovered a variety of digital media storage devices and that the evidence will be submitted to the Maryland State Police Digital Forensics Lab for analysis.

Police said Garcia admitted to going into several different backyards and stealing bathing suits and other personal items. Police said after searching Garcia's house they found the stolen items and images of child pornography. Police said Garcia also admitted being in the country illegally for the past 10 years.

Garcia was taken into custody and is being held without bond at the Somerset County Detention Facility. Garcia is also being held on an immigration detainer as a threat to national security.

The investigation is still ongoing. Maryland State Police are asking anyone with information to call the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack at (443) 260-3700.

Crabbing season is well underway, and that means hundreds of thousands of crab pots are in the Chesapeake Bay catching blue crabs. However, many of those pots can quickly become "ghost" pots, sinking to the bottom of the bay and taking millions of crabs with them. These ghost pots have been a problem in the bay for decades, diminishing the crab population, and potentially costing watermen millions of dollars.
