Posted: Updated:

DAGSBORO, Del. - A woman in Sussex County came face-to-face with a strange man in her home Wednesday morning, according to Delaware State Police.

Troopers said it happened around 11:45 Wednesday morning in the 30,000 block of Iris Field Lane near Dagsboro. Trooper said a 28-year-old woman was in her bathroom when she heard a noise at the back of her home. As she went to see what caused the noise, police said she confronted a man who had broken into her home. Police said the man assaulted the woman before taking off. He did not take anything from the property.

Police said the woman was slightly injured, but she did not require immediate medical attention.

Dagsboro Police Department, Delaware Natural Resources K9 Unit, Delaware State Police Aviation, and Millsboro Police Department all responded to the scene to assist with finding the suspect, but were unsuccessful. He is described as an African-American man, 5’10” tall, and was last seen wearing all dark clothing. No weapon was displayed, according to police.
