Laurel Man Arrested after Robbing Georgetown Pharmacy

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Georgetown police were able to track down and arrest a man they say robbed the Georgetown Pharmacy Monday night.

Police say Timothy Skerstad, 40, of Laurel, went into the pharmacy with his face covered and armed with what appeared to be a revolver. Skerstad demanded prescription medication from the pharmacist.

After the pharmacist complied, Skerstad fled the East Market Street building but was apprehended a short distance away. Georgetown Police recovered $6,000 worth of the prescription medication as well as a replica gun that was used.

Skerstad was charged with 1st degree robbery, aggravated menacing, and possession of a controlled substance. Skerstad was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $40,000.00 cash bond.
