EASTON, Md. -- Maryland State Police say a man has died after a car crash closed down a road Thursday morning in Talbot County.

A police investigation report says Richard Firth of Trappe was going eastbound on Royal Oak Road when he crossed the center line into the westbound lane. At around 10:30 a.m., police say Firth hit another driver head-on, causing his car to flip onto its roof, landing in a ditch in the area of Loves Folley Farm Road.

Firth died in the crash. Maryland Police have identified the second driver as Burnette Slacum of Cambridge. Slacum's injuries are unknown, but police say she is in stable condition.

Traffic was shut down in that area until 2 p.m. on Thursday.
