Georgetown, Del. -- The Delaware State Police Department say they are investigating a car crash that happened north of Georgetown in the Donovans Salvage parking lot on Thursday afternoon.

Police report the accident happened at around 2:47 p.m. when 35-year-old Octavio Barrios-Fuentes who was driving a Dodge Durango southbound on Donovans Road failed at an attempt to make a left turn. The Durango struck a parked car in the parking lot of Donovans Salvage hitting 36-year-old Harvey T. Thornes. The parked vehicle then pushed into a food truck also parked in the parking lot, causing grease to spill out of the vats onto 50-year-old Cynthia L. Brown. Barrios-Fuentes fled the scene to a nearby railroad track where police say he was taken into custody 25 minutes later.

Thornes was taken to Christiana Medical Center; police say he is in stable condition. Brown was taken to Crozer-Chester Medical center, where she is also in stable condition.

Octavio Barrios-Fuentes was charged with two counts of vehicular assault 1st, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license, and various other traffic related offenses. Police say he was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $8,000.00 cash bond.
