A Salisbury Non-Profit Group Is Giving Away 2,000 Bookbags To Kids For School

SALISBURY, Md.- A local non-profit group is giving away 2,000 free bookbags and supplies to kids heading back to school. Extraordinary League of Gentlemen started the bookbag giveaway to help kids in need on Delmarva. 

This year their 7th Annual Bright Minds With Bright Futures bookbag giveaway will be held at the Billy Gene Jackson Park in Salisbury on Saturday from 3pm to 5pm.

Jermichael Mitchell, vice president of ELOG said, "Our biggest message to kids coming out to our event is, prepare yourself, we're trying to prepare you do well in school, be a good person do good things in your community and we can have a great community no matter what's going on."

Mitchell said the giveaway has grown tremendously over the past years through the help of online donations to the organizations GoFundMe account and grants.
