GIRDLETREE, Md.- The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred Saturday night on Truitts Landing Road.

Officers said a Chevrolet operated by Charles E. Parks, 54, of Salisbury Md. was traveling in a northerly direction at what appears to be a high rate of speed approaching Boxiron Road when the vehicle began to rotate clockwise and struck a tree.

Officer said the main impact with the tree occurred at the vehicle’s driver’s door. Parks was not restrained at the time of the crash and later died due to his injuries.

The passenger in the vehicle, Sarah Davis, 31, of Salisbury Md. was restrained in the vehicle and was injured in the crash, according to police. She was transported to P.R.M.C. in Salisbury for treatment and later released.

The Sheriff''s Office said speed and possible drug use are factors in the crash.
