HARBESON, Del.- Delaware State Police say a Georgetown woman was charged with traffic violations after the Jeep she was driving rear-ended a tractor-trailer in Harbeson.

The accident happened at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Troopers said a tractor-trailer, driven by Robert Washburn of Port Deposit, Md., was turning into the Industrial Park as a Jeep, driven by Joan Jones of Georgetown, was traveling southbound on Indian Mission Road toward Holly Mount Road.

Police said the Jeep struck the rear of the tractor-trailer. Both Joan Jones and her 4-year-old passenger were transported to Beebe Hospital to get checked out as a precautionary measure. Jones had minor injuries but the child was not hurt, according to police. Jones was cited for inattentive driving and failure to have insurance identification in possession.

Washburn was uninjured, troopers said.
