KENT COUNTY, Del. --  The Delaware Attorney General says a Camden man will spend life in prison after being sentenced for attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon in Kent County.

Authorities say in September 2015, Daniel Eyster, 30, hit his girlfriend in the head with a hammer, causing a serious head injury, leading to several surgeries. The Attorney General says Eyster was convicted by a superior court jury in June and faced a minimum mandatory sentence of 17 years in prison. Judge Jeffrey Clark, however, imposed the decision to a life sentence.
