DOVER, Del.- A Dover man is awaiting extradition back to Delaware to face charges related to a deadly home invasion.

According to police, 22-year-old Quashaun Christy has been charged in connection with the Aug. 18 shooting of Emmitt Brown on Queen Street.

Police said Christy and other suspects illegally entered Brown's apartment just after 9:30 p.m. on that date with the intent to commit a robbery. Once inside, the suspects exchanged gunfire with the occupants of the home, and Brown was mistakenly struck and later died from his injuries, according to police.

Once back in Delaware, police say Christy will face the following charges:

  • Home invasion
  • First-degree robbery
  • First-degree conspiracy
  • Reckless endangering
  • Possession of firearm during commission of felony (pending a separate indictment)
