Del. Zip Line Attraction Reopens after Deadly Fall

BEAR, Del. -- A zip line attraction at a Delaware State Park is reopening two weeks after a woman fell 35 feet to her death.

State officials say they have approved the reopening of the Go Ape Treetops Adventure at Lums Pond State Park in Bear, Del., following an independent inspection. The Go Ape course will reopen Friday and a new Junior Treetops Adventure course will open on Saturday.

Go Ape officials say that the inspection on the older course was performed on August 30th, including safety training, documentation, systems and equipment. The report on the inspection was given to state officials on Tuesday.

Tina Werner, 59, , of Felton, died on August 24th after falling from a platform on the zip line course in what Go Ape officials described as an accident caused by "participant error."
