GEORGETOWN, Del. - Police are investigating a late night robbery of a pedestrian in Georgetown.

According to Delaware State Police, a 21-year-old woman was walking on the shoulder of Route 404, leaving work, around midnight Thursday morning. Police said the woman saw a newer model sports car pass her and make a U-turn before pulling up behind her and parking along the shoulder.

Four men then got out of the car and confronted the woman, threatening to hurt her with a gun, which they never showed her, according to police. One of the suspects pushed the woman and took her purse before the group got back into the car and drove south on Gravelly Branch Road, police said. The victim was not injured.

Police are searching for the suspects, described only as white men. Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop 4 Major Crimes at 302-856-5850. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, online at http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword “DSP.”
