MARION STATION, Md. - Missing checks have led to two arrests in Somerset County.

Troopers were called to a home on Charles Cannon Road in Marion Station on Aug. 13 for a report of two stolen checks.

According to the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack, the victim found out someone had taken two checks from his checkbook when he got a call from PNC Bank. The bank stated that someone had tried to cash one of his checks in the amount of $400 on Aug. 13 and that another of his checks made out to cash for $500 was cashed on Aug. 8. Police said they were cashed at two separate PNC branches in Salisbury.

After viewing surveillance footage, police were able to identify Jordan Johnson of Deal Island as the man who had cashed the $500 check and Korey Bratten of Salisbury as the man who had attempted to cash a $400 check.

Police said Johnson was arrested on Sept. 9 and held on $50,000 bond. Bratten was arrested on Tuesday and held on $30,000 bond.
