HARRINGTON, Del.- Police say they arrested a Harrington man and woman following an argument in which he grabbed her by the throat and she punched him in the face and poured bleach on him.

Harrington police said the incident happened Friday at a home on the 200 block of Delaware Avenue. According to police, officers responded to the home for a report of a domestic incident in progress.

When officers arrived on the scene, they met with 35-year-old Daniel Johnson and 23-year-old Shanique T. Johnson, both of the 200 block of Dorman St. in Harrington. According to police, the investigation determined that the couple got into an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Police said that during the fight, Daniel Johnson grabbed his wife by the throat, assaulted her and threatened to kill her. Police said they also determined that Shanique Johnson attacked her husband by punching him in the face and pouring bleach on him.

Daniel Johnson was charged with strangulation, terroristic threatening and offensive touching and ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $2,600 secured bond.  Shanique Johnson was charged with second-degree assault and offensive touching and released on $3,200 unsecured bond.
