Three Laurel Teens Charged in Robbery and Car Theft

LAUREL, Del. - Three teenagers have been arrested for a robbery that police say sent a woman to the hospital.

According to Laurel Police, a 63-year-old woman was robbed and had her car stolen on Tuesday. She had noticeable injuries when police arrived and was taken to Nanticoke Hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the incident led to the arrests of three Laurel teenagers on felony charges. Eighteen-year-old Tiara Taylor, 16-year-old Calisha Davis and 17-year-old Howard Straughn Jr. were all charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree conspiracy and theft of a motor vehicle, according to police. They said Straughn was also charged with wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.

According to police, Davis was committed to Stevenson House in Milford without bail. Straughn was also committed to Stevenson House in default of $52,000 secured bond. Taylor was committed to SCI in Georgetown in default of $50,000 cash bond.
