Arrest Made in Cambridge Murder; Victim Identified

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Cambridge police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, 23-year-old Jaelin Tyru Green-Purnell was arrested on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. and charged in the death of Taron Anderson. Charges include: first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, handgun on person and handgun used in a crime of violence.

On Wednesday night, police said they arrived to to a home in the 500 block of Saunders Avenue in Cambridge and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

Police say Green-Purnell is currently being held without bail at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
