Laurel, DE Traffic Stop Nets Multiple Types of Drugs

LAUREL, Del. - A traffic stop over the weekend led to the discovery of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and suspected drug money, according to police.

On Sunday, Sept. 25, the Laurel Police Department said officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of E. 4th Street and King Street. Police said while they were speaking to the driver, identified as Katie Dilworth 28 of Laurel, the officer detected an odor of burnt marijuana. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted where officers said they found 2.9 grams of heroin, 15 bags of heroin, a marijuana cigarette, 0.5 grams powder cocaine and $1,270 in cash.
 
Dilworth was transported to Laurel PD where 18.1 grams of crack cocaine where discovered in her possession, police said.

Dilworth was charged with drug dealing/ possession with the intent to deliver crack cocaine in tier 3 quantity, drug dealing/ possession with the intent to deliver heroin in a tier 2 quantity, tampering with evidence, possession of powder cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and driving without seatbelt fastened. Dilworth was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #3 and held at Sussex Corrections Institute after failure to post $84,000 cash only bond.
