WILMINGTON, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Wilmington police say a 27-year-old woman has been charged with arson and murder for intentionally setting a fire that killed two Wilmington firefighters.

Beatrice Fana-Ruiz, the daughter of the homeowner and a temporary resident, was arrested Thursday morning. She was also charged by the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office with first-degree arson and seven counts of first-degree reckless endangering.

Lt. Christopher Leach and Senior Firefighter Jerry Fickes were killed early Saturday morning after the first floor of the burning rowhome on Lakeview Road collapsed, trapping them in the basement.

Two other firefighters remain hospitalized. Wilmington Battalion Chief James Jobes says Brad Speakman was upgraded to stable condition Wednesday and is able to walk down the hallway at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Jobes says Ardythe Hope remains in critical but stable condition.

A joint memorial service, which is open to the public, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Chase Center on the Riverfront.
