CAMDEN, Del. (WBOC/AP)- A 5-year-old boy has died nearly two weeks after he was hospitalized following a car crash west of Camden.

Delaware State Police said that at around 8 p.m. Sept. 19, 53-year-old driver Mark T. Long was driving northbound on Oak Point School Road and approaching Jebb Road when lost control of his vehicle, which flipped and ejected both Long and his son Matthew J. Long from the vehicle. Both were hospitalized.

Matthew Long died of his injuries Friday at Alfred I. DuPont Children's Hospital.

Police said neither Mark Long nor his son was wearing a seatbelt.

Authorities said speed was a factor in the crash. No charges had been filed as of Sunday.
