Ingredients:
2 1/2 qts strawberries, sliced
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. plus 1/4 tsp.almond extract, divided
2 8oz pkgs cream cheese, softened
1 cup sour cream
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
16 oz whipped topping
1 angel food cake, torn into pieces
Garnish: whipped topping and strawberries, sliced
Directions:
Mix strawberries with sugar and 3 tbsps almond extract; set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, powdered sugar, vanilla and remaining almond extract: fold in whipped topping.
Layer 1/2 cake pieces, 1/2 strawberries and 1/2 cream cheese mixture in a large clear glass bowl: repeat layers.
Garnish top of trifle with whipped topping and additional strawberries.
Refrigerate before serving Makes 20 servings.
