Driver Identified in Deadly Wicomico County Crash

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md.- The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a man killed in a weekend crash in Mardela Springs. 

Deputies responded to a crash on the 7100 block of Athol Road just before 5 p.m. Sunday. Deputies said a truck crashed into a tree. They have identified the driver as 20-year-old Jack Edward Morris, of Bivalve.

According to the sheriff's office, Morris was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, but the Sheriff's Office believes speed was a factor in the crash.
