ATLANTIC, Va.- The next Antares rocket launch from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on the Eastern Shore of Virginia is scheduled for next week.

NASA and Orbital ATK announced Tuesday that they successfully completed a pre-launch Flight Readiness Review and established a targeted launch date of Thursday, Oct. 13 for the launch, which will carry supplies to the International Space Station.

In preparation for the mission, final integration of the company’s Cygnus spacecraft and Antares rocket is now underway, with roll out to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport’s Pad 0A anticipated to take place on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

For an Oct. 13 launch, liftoff is scheduled at 9:13 p.m. EDT and will be visible along the East Coast depending on atmospheric conditions. Officials said this schedule is subject to completion of all remaining pre-launch integration and testing activities and acceptable weather conditions prior to and during launch operations.

It will be the first Antares launch from Wallops since a rocket exploded seconds back in October of 2014. Shortly after liftoff, a failure in one of the two engine's turbo pumps caused the termination of the launch and saw the rocket come crashing back down to earth.
