SALISBURY, Md - A Salisbury man is facing charges after being arrested for DUI twice in less than a month on the same road.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said that on Thursday, Sept. 30, a sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Dustin R. Tippett stopped in a traffic lane on Beaglin Park Drive.  After speaking with Tippett, the deputy reportedly detected a strong odor of alcohol. According to the Sheriff's Office, Tippett told the deputy that the car was experiencing mechanical issues, but the deputy observed that the vehicle was equipped with an ignition interlock device. It was presumed that the device may have disabled Tippett’s vehicle, the Sheriff's Office said.

The deputy administered sobriety testing to Tippett, which authorities said he failed. The deputy placed Tippett under arrest for DUI, attempting to drive a motor vehicle with alcohol in blood in violation of restriction and violating a license restriction.

According to the Sheriff's Office, this was the second time in less than a month that Tippett was arrested for drunk driving. Investigators said his prior DUI arrest happened on Sept. 2 when he was spotted driving on Beaglin Park Drive without his headlights on. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol per se, violating a license restriction and driving without headlights.

Tippett was released after being cited.
