NANTICOKE, Md.- The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office arrested a Marydel man for trying to steal a gold cart.

Early Monday morning, police were called to the Roaring Point Campground. The owner of the golf cart told police he caught Keith Short attempting to drive away in his golf cart.

Police say Short was at the campground for a party and appeared intoxicated. Short also told the deputy that he intended to drive around the campground until he found someone to stay with.

The deputy arrested Short and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance, the Commissioner released Short on Personal Recognizance. He's charged with theft $1,000 to $10.000.
