NORTH SMYRNA, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating an early Wednesday crash on SR 1 involving two tractor-trailers.

According to DSP Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, the crash happened around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday on southbound SR 1 at Exit 119 in Smyrna, just before the Route 13. Hale said there were no injuries in the crash, but one of the two trucks overturned, spilling its load of chickens in the roadway.

As a result of this crash, the southbound lanes of SR1 at Exit 119 were blocked for several hours into the morning rush as crews cleared away the overturned trailer and chickens. The southbound lanes were reopened to traffic shortly after 10 a.m.
