GEORGETOWN, Del. - A two-month investigation into illegal drug sales has led to the arrest of a Georgetown man.

According to Georgetown police, members of the Georgetown Police Department, with the assistance of the Rehoboth Beach and Delmar Police Departments, arrested 23-year-old Oquindell Timmons on Thursday.

Police said a search of Timmons' car and apartment uncovered 269 bags of heroin, five grams of cocaine, nearly $4,000 in suspected drug proceeds and a digital scale. Detectives said they also recovered a loaded .380 caliber handgun during the search.

Timmons was charged with two counts of drug dealing, possession of a tier 4 quantity of heroin, possession of a handgun during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. Timmons was committed to the Department of Corrections in lieu of $53,500 cash bond, according to police.
