WALLOPS ISLAND, Va.- The long awaited launch of Orbital ATK's Antares rocket has been rescheduled from Sunday to Monday due to faulty equipment.

NASA says a GSE, or ground support equipment cable "did not perform as expected during the pre-launch checkout."  NASA says they have spares on hand and they are currently working to replace the faulty cable.  NASA says the Antares and Cygnus teams are not working on any technical issues related to the rocket or the spacecraft.

The launch was scheduled for 8:03 pm on Sunday, but has been pushed back until Monday at 7:40 pm instead.  The launch had been delayed earlier in the week due to Hurricane Nicole, which struck Bermuda late last week, interfering with a tracking station used for the Wallops Island launch.  This is the first Antares rocket to be launched in two years, since one of the rockets was detonated shortly after takeoff due to a propulsion issue.  The upgraded Antares rocket has an new propulsion system to carry it's cargo, the Cygnus spacecraft, to the International Space Station.
