MILLVILLE, Del. -- The Delaware State Police say two people have been arrested involving a Thursday morning home invasion near Millville.

Police say around 1:00 a.m.Thursday, October 20, a 64-year-old man and his 19-year-old acquaintance were sleeping when they were awoken by four suspects in his bedroom. The male victim reported to police he had been assaulted by one of the suspects, and then tied up before they placed a blanket over his head. Police also say the female acquaintance reported she was covered with a blanket and dragged into the kitchen where she was left alone. The DSPD Major Crimes Unit says the suspects took numerous laptops and cell phones from the home, before freeing the male victim and leaving the home. The male victim was transported to a nearby hospital by responding EMS where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries. His identity has not been released.

Police identified the female acquaintance as Lauren Melton of Millville, who pre-arranged the robbery and had been in contact with one of suspects, identified as Stephen Wheeler, 22 of Dover, via text messages before and after the home invasion. Both Melton and Wheeler were taken into police custody. DSPD says Melton was charged for home invasion, second-degree robbery, second-degree assault and second-degree conspiracy; she was committed on $50,000 cash bond. Wheeler was charged with the same charges as Melton and committed to $66,000 cash bond.

The investigation is still on-going; the other suspects have yet to be identified. Police ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-8000-TIP-3333.

New Waterfront Hotel Breaks Ground in O.C., Part 2

The location of a new waterfront hotel that recently broke ground in Ocean City is raising some eyebrows with neighbors in the downtown area.

The Cambria Hotel is being built in the vacant lot that sits just north of the Route 50 drawbridge, meaning it will be one of the first things drivers see headed into town.

Brian Plimack, who lives just behind the development, said the hotel is too much of a drastic change to the town's skyline.
