Salisbury Sex Offender Arrested for Assaulting Girl

SALISBURY, Md.- A 57-year-old registered sex offender from Salisbury is facing an assault charge following accusations that he inappropriately touched a teenage girl.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said that on Oct. 28, Clarence R. McGill Jr. was taken into custody following a complaint made that he was repeatedly touching a 16-year-old girl while making suggestive comments toward her.  According to the complaint, McGill would allegedly rub on the victim’s arm in a manner that made her feel uncomfortable. The incident reportedly happened in the 500 block of Booth Street in Salisbury. 

According to the Maryland Sex Offender Registry, McGill was convicted in 2007 of third-degree sex offense. 

Following his arrest for second-degree assault, McGill was ordered held without bond.

    A scary scene on the Ocean City beach Sunday afternoon after a Pennsylvania woman was wounded by a windswept umbrella. Ocean City Beach Patrol said the incident happened on the 54th Street beach, and they received the call just after 3 p.m. Beach Patrol said an unattended umbrella swept by the wind pierced the woman's skin on her upper left chest. However, Captain Butch Arbin who was on scene said it was a non-life threatening injury.
